Terms and Conditions

The Cheshire Dog walkers and Pet Sitting Service is covered by public liability insurance provided by Clivertons.

  • All dogs must be fully vaccinated with up to date boosters. (customer to produce documents)
  • All dogs must be vaccinated against kennel cough (customer to produce documents)
  • All dogs must have been flea and worm treated in the last three months.
  • All dogs will need to pass a basic assessment before being accepted into our service. They must display a good level of obedience, no signs of aggression and be social with other dogs and children.
  • We will NOT accept aggressive dogs into our service.
  • Dangerous Dogs ACT 1991. The act prohibits persons from having in their possession or custody to types bred for fighting, it imposes restrictions in respect of such dogs, it enables restrictions to be imposed in relation to other types of dog which present a serious danger to the public and makes further provision for ensuring that dogs are kept under proper control.
  • The Control of Dogs order 1992 (SI 901). The order states that every dog, whilst in a place of public resort, must wear a collar with the name and address of the owner/keepers name and address inscribed upon it.
  • All dogs will be required to wear an 'All Weathers' identification disc with our telephone number inscribed upon it.
  • All dogs should be fed after walking to prevent the risk of bloat (known as twisted gut) which can occur if the animal is fed prior to exercise. If we are 'Pet Sitting' we will feed your dog one hour after exercise.
  • Bitches in season will be considered but must remain on the leash.
  • We recommend that all dogs are kept on their leash, however if you request your dog to be let off we will require written consent from you the customer.
  • The Cheshire Dog Walkers cannot be held responsible for the loss, injury or death of your dog off leash.
  • Puppies must be immunised and will only be considered for the 30 minute walk option until they have reached 6 months of age.
  • Security - The company undertakes to treat all data about clients as strictly confidential and will not be sold or passed onto any third parties.
  • Payment - Payment for general day to day walks must be made by cash or bank transfer within 7 days of receiving the 'TCDW' invoice for services provided. Specific payment terms will be discussed in the initial meeting.
  • Payment for pet sitting bookings is due 7 days prior to the start of the booking at the latest. Where payment is not received in accordance with these terms and conditions of business the company reserves the right not to proceed with any previously agreed arrangements.
  • Cancellations - Cancellations of any pet sitting service must take place at least 72 hours prior to the service commencing. Any cancellations made later than the 72 hour window will result in 50% of the fees paid in advance being forfeited unless in exceptional circumstances (i.e. bereavement in the family)
  • Should a customer return early during a pet sitting booking no refund or part refund will be available. Cancellation of any walking service must be made 24 hours before the service is due to start or full payment will be charged to you. If we have to cancel due to any unforeseen circumstances, such as illness, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible.
